In the first Transformers movie, it is explained that modern technology was mostly copied from a captured, cryogenically frozen Megatron (the big bad transformer in the movie) over the last hundred years. However, this line really doesn't have grounds.
Substitute, in this argument, any notion that aliens/angels/god gave us our modern level of technology. This is complete bunk, and it is easy to prove. Argument one: technological development has been happening, step by step, since the enlightenment. Did you know that radio waves were discovered by Henry Hertz in the 1880s? According to the Transformers movie, that's before Megatron was even discovered. There is no way that aliens would have the time, resources, and most importantly interest in teaching humanity how to use basic technology like this in such a slow manner. Technology is slow in its development and follows a very clear linear pattern.
Secondly, this pattern is traceable. You can go to a university library and read papers that describe every possible technology that makes up your phone and how it was arrived at. There are no blank spaces. Due to the public sharing of scientific records, there are no unexplainable "gaps" in our knowledge. Humans invented Bluetooth step by step, by publishing thousands of papers and by conducting tens of thousands of experiments, each of which was logged, filed, and made available to the public. There are no missing links!
The US patent office has every available step in the process available to the public. Every device ever created (almost) is in this database (and those of other countries) for you to look at and discover. Again, there are no missing links!
This means that any claim that our technology was given to us by a higher being is bunk. Generations before us worked their asses off to create the tech we see every day. Ignoring their hard work and claiming your Ipad is from aliens is just plain disrespectful.
Megatron didn't give us our tech. We created it ourselves through grit, determination, and science.
